Welcome to Vernon, Texas, a community of 11,660. The historic
proximity to the Western Trail is symbolic as Vernon is centrally
located in the North Texas, Southwestern Oklahoma region of
the United States. Vernon is approximately half-way between
Amarillo and the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex on U.S. 287 (a
limited access, four-lane highway). Vernon is also centrally
located in the Southern half of the United States and within
200 miles of six interstate highways; U.S. 287 intersects with
I-44 in Wichita Falls, I-40 at Amarillo, and I-20, I-30, I-35
and I-45 at Dallas/Fort Worth. |
